I'm a graphic designer based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I've been a jill-0f-all-trades print designer for the past 15 years, with a recent focus on book cover design.
I aim to balance thoughtful type, layered textures, and compelling imagery to create covers that get to the heart of a story.
Throughout my career, I honed my design expertise in varied sectors. As a freelancer, I have designed book covers, developed brand identities, and created promotional materials and merchandise for non-profits and small businesses. As a graphic designer for a world relief agency, I designed cohesive print and advertising campaigns, as well as long-form print pieces like the yearly gift catalogue and annual reports. As Art Director at a liberal arts university, I led the design of key marketing materials, including the academic calendar, institutional magazine, and visual identity guide. In each chapter of my design career, I've witnessed the transformative power of stories told well.
Books and stories have been a defining pillar of my life, and I'm quite certain they are the best tool we have for understanding one another. Long before I was a designer, I was a reader, scribbling doodles in the margins of my overdue library books. I now save the doodling for my design work, but my books are still overdue (sorry!).
When I'm not hunched over my computer, I'm thrifting, reading, writing on substack, or acting as an alpha reader for my ten year old's latest comic book (he just launched Cucumber Kid issue 1 volume 1).
I'd love to talk books with you.
